Michael our Kitchen Man

Michael is both a friend and also helping us out with the kitchen design. He's skilled at both kitchen layouts AND conflict management/couples counseling (if you get our drift!). Richard is looking SO forward to getting back into a real kitchen. Last weekend, we visited Michael on his horse farm in Chestertown, MD....a beautiful spot. Tom helped fix some farm machinery....so he was awarded some wine....guess he did a really good job....he got a glass for each hand!

The Backyard Fence

Eric, our fence man is doing a fantastic job. The fence will help with privacy....we all know how Richard likes his privacy.

Plumbing is Finished!!!!!

Tom has worked very hard to install all the drains and water lines. For water, we used special tubing - white (or blue) for cold and red for hot. Tom is totally proud of the green sticker - awarded by the building inspector after a close look to see if everything was "approved".

Friends Visiting our Home

f

Our next door neighbors, Martha and Richard, helped us celebrate our first fire in the fireplace.

Susan and Nico came all the way from San Diego for Spring Brake to experience Lewes and Washington, DC.

The Front Porch

The front porch is completed - except there are no stairs....we'll, we need to maintain a "punch list" for Tom! Pictured are the posts that we had made by Amish woodworkers. The post design were taken from our friends Tom and Lauren's home in Phoenixville....which was built at around the same time as our home. The grey color is only primer; they'll be painted with colors from the outside of the house.

Heating & Airconditioning

We're all set for the heating and airconditioning - although we don't have any electricity to run it just yet!

We're Back, Again

Sorry all - we've been so busy haven't had time to keep up the blog. Here are some photos of what the house looks like now. Notice the different color fish scale at the top of the house; we ran out of pre-painted material so we had to install the off-the shelf white version (thanks to our friend Alan who donated some left over fish scale from his stock).
